Putin to attend 2018 FIFA World Cup opening match between Russia, Saudi Arabia




MOSCOW, May 4. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will go to the 2018 FIFA World Cup opening match amongst Russia and Saudi Arabia, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told columnists. 

"Starting at now, I can state for beyond any doubt that the president will go to the World Cup opening match, which will include Team Russia and Team Saudi Arabia," he said. 

Whenever inquired as to whether the president wanted to go to some other World Cup matches, Peskov said that "everything will rely upon how things go." 







The 2018 FIFA World Cup, the first-at any point facilitated by Russia, will be held between June 14 and July 15, 2018, in 11 Russian urban areas - Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Sochi and Rostov-on-Don. 

Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Uruguay will make up Group A, while Group B will incorporate Portugal, Spain, Iran and Morocco. Gathering C will comprise of France, Australia, Peru and Denmark, while Group D will be Argentina, Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria. Gathering E will be made out of Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia. Gathering F has Germany, Mexico, Sweden and South Korea, while Group G will envelop Belgium, Panama, Tunisia and England. At last, Group H has Poland, Colombia, Senegal and Japan. 

The World Cup opening match will be amongst Russia and Saudi Arabia. Amid the gathering stage, Team Russia will likewise play with Egypt on June 19 and with Uruguay on June 25.
